Philanthropy
From a very early age Amy understood the value and power of giving back to a community has. At first it was helping the barn hands with barn chores, and has since grown to lending her professional experiences to furthering an organizations goal. These are just a few of the community organizations and efforts she supports regularly.
“A friend of mine created this self empowering foundation for girls ages 10-14 who have experienced bullying. With 30% of children having been bullied at some point, it’s a topic that needs to be addressed through positive measures. Severson Sisters will launch its first summer camp series on June 6, 2011 at the Halle Heart Children’s Museum and use the outlets of creative arts to build self esteem and value within girls.”
United Cerebral Palsy of Central Arizona (UCP)
“My first internship in the Marketing world started at UCP, and has led to nearly a 10 year support of the organization. UCP was the first time I ever had an opportunity to interact with developmentally challenged children, and how power of patience, love and therapy and better enhance a child’s life. It was also here I learned how CP has affected my own family. The biggest keepsake from my experience at UCP is the power of champions; I met my own champion hero, the Dozer family through the tremendous support of this organization.”
United State Eventing Association
“Horses will forever be my deepest and closest to the heart passion. Yeah, I’m that girl that still shouts and points “Pony!” when I see one. I began riding horses when I was 7 years old, and entered the eventing world at age 10. Countless horses, pick up rides, groundings, falls, finishes, and miles traveled, I can’t think of a more thrilling sport than equine and rider covering 3-5 disciplines. Disciplines that require focus, strategy, dedication and most importantly, the will of a partnership.”
Other organizations Amy supports on an annual basis:
